WILLIMANTIC—Willington resident Codi Bierce and Columbia’s Nicole Moore are the recipients of the Auxiliary to Windham Hospital’s Anne L. Card Memorial Scholarship for 2014.
The scholarship, named in honor of the late Anne L. Card who was a 50-plus year member of the Auxiliary and a dedicated volunteer at the hospital, awards two $1,000 scholarships to students planning to enter a full-time course of study in medical related fields.
Bierce, who graduated from E. O. Smith in Storrs in June, will attend the University of Connecticut and will be a Pre-Med/biology major. Moore, who graduated from Windham High School, will attend Colby-Sawyer College and major in Nursing.
To be eligible, students must reside in one of the following towns served by the hospital: Andover, Ashford, Brooklyn, Canterbury, Chaplin, Colchester, Columbia, Coventry, Eastford, Franklin, Hampton, Hebron, Lebanon, Mansfield, Scotland, Sprague, Tolland, Willington, or Windham/Willimantic.
