Town Pride Town Wide 2015

Help Beautify Your Town!

Saturday, April 25 is this year’s Town Pride Town Wide event in Windham. Every year on the last Saturday in April, the Town of Windham, Eastern CT State University and The Chamber of Commerce, Windham Region join together to organize a town wide beautification day. The purpose of this event is to instill a sense of community between residents, students and businesses and to make the time to do clean up jobs or beautification projects all throughout town. Each year the Committee chooses one or more major projects in the town to focus on. In addition, Eastern will provide students to volunteer to help Windham businesses and non-profits with their own beautification or earth day projects. Any business, non-profit or community group can request student volunteers to help with their projects. Some of the projects done in the past have been gardening, painting, raking, street sweeping, mulching and planting. Students will be available to volunteer from 9:00 am until noon but residents and businesses are encouraged to use the entire day to do their beautification projects.

For more information please contact the Chamber at 860-423-6389 or to schedule student volunteers contact Kim Silcox at 860-465-5755.
