Board of Directors
The Last Green Valley, Inc. (TLGV) is looking for members to serve on its Board of Directors. The TLGV Nominating Committee is searching for members with a passion for TLGV’s mission and a variety of skills and talents, with geographic representation throughout the National Heritage Corridor. This year, the Nominating Committee is particularly interested in members with expertise in human resources, fundraising and development, and nonprofit law.
Board terms are usually for 3 years, and begin upon election at the Annual Meeting in June. The Board meets monthly (currently the third Thursday of each month at 8:30 am) and is actively involved in TLGV programs and projects. Board members are expected to attend most Board meetings, to participate in Board Committees, to donate during the annual appeal, and to participate in TLGV events.
If interested, please submit a brief statement of interest and a resume to the TLGV office by May 1, 2016. Email Lois Bruinooge, Executive Director, or call her at 860-774-3300 for more information.
Clean Up Funds Available
TLGV is once again looking for people who care about this beautiful place we call home. TLGV will provide funds to nonprofit organizations and municipal, regional, state or federal agencies that sponsor a 2016 land or river cleanup in the region.
Last year, 1,714 volunteers from 26 different groups removed more than 54,770 pounds of trash from our rivers, parks, and roadways!
