NEW Farmers in the Valley Tour & Tastes of the Valley!

We’ve found a new way to expand awareness about The Last Green Valley and promote our agricultural business partners with the 2017 Farmers in the Valley Tour!

We started off at Ekonk Hill Turkey Farm in March. Still to come is Shearing Day at Morning Beckons Farm in June, then visits to The Farmer’s Cow Farms – Fort Hill Farms in July and Cushman Farm in August. These are FREE family-friendly events. Bring the kids!

Tastes of the Valley, featuring a plated dinner with a “Farmer at your Table” is set for August 27th at The Publick House in Sturbridge (yes – another TLGV partner)!

Sponsorship and ticket info is available! Seats are limited.

Tip Time!

We’ve talked about the benefits of scheduling posts and creating events on your business or organization’s Facebook page.

Today’s easy tip is to “tag” others in your posts.

TLGV tags all of our partners who are on Facebook in posts where we feature them. Many of our partners tag us!

Why is this good?

Those you tag will know that you are tagging them and shining attention their way, posting their information, events and news! That is a good thing. They can like it, share it, or comment on it.For readers, the benefit is that they can click on the “tag” and go directly to whomever you have “tagged.”

How do you “tag” someone?

As you are typing a name in a post, type the @ before the name.

Example: by typing @the last green valley as you are posting on Facebook, a list will come up before your eyes, including The Last Green Valley. Click on the name you are looking for. Voila ~ you have “tagged” them.

**Use caution in “tagging” very common names and be sure you are “tagging” exactly who you mean to tag! For instance, there are Towns of Mansfield in CT & MA, and you want to be sure to choose the correct one!

Great tags to use?  @The Last Green Valley @Visit Connecticut @Visit Massachusetts and @Mystic Country, Connecticut, plus any business associations, chambers or groups that you are a member of. This is an easy way to catch the eyes of many! Try it, you’ll like it!

Walktober – Time to Plan!

June 30, 2017 is the deadline to submit your Walktober. (This deadline guarantees you’ll be in the print brochure.)

After last year’s almost 300 Walktober choices and 64,000+ participants, we know there are more stories to tell, places to be visited, trails to hike, and birds to see! Rally your staff, members, volunteers, fellow townsfolk and see what you can do to highlight your greatness! Need ideas? Ranger Marcy is always willing to brainstorm.

The new online Walktober form is easy to use!

Walktober brochures are viewed intensely and kept for long periods of time, so consider advertising in the brochure!

Do you Walktober? Share what you love!
