THE WINDHAM THEATRE GUILD ANNOUNCES THEIR 2012-2013 SEASON

The Windham Theatre proudly announces the great line-up of shows coming up in the Burton Leavitt Theatre, 779 Main Street, Willimantic for the 2012-2013 Season that kicks off this summer.

Everyone looks forward to the Guild’s summer musical, and this year they’re excited to bring to the stage L. Frank Baum’s classic story The Wizard Of Oz.  Travel down the yellow brick road with Dorothy and her friends July 20th-August 4th.

In fall, the Guild will present another wonderfully funny play written by Norm Foster, Canada’s own Neil Simon.  From September 14th -23rd, the WTG will treat you to Bedtime Stories, a series of comic vignettes that all take place in a bedroom.

Coming up November 2nd-17th is a country music lovers dream…Always, Patsy Cline, by Ted Swindley.  The entire show features Patsy Cline singing her hit songs, the story of her life as told by her best friend Louise and a hot honky tonk band on stage heating things up.

For the first time ever, the Windham Theatre Guild is going to usher in the holiday season with a December special event.  For four days only, December 13th-16th, you’ll take a trip back to the days of old time radio when Guild performers present It’s A Wonderful Life, a Live Radio Show ,adapted by Philip Grecian and based on the film by Frank Capra.

The first show of 2013 starts off with the fast-paced whodunit The 39 Steps.  Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have The 39 Steps, a 2-time Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning treat running February 8th-17th.

A Drama special event will now be a permanent part of the season.  March 2013 will feature Arthur Miller’s classic All My Sons, running for four days only, March 7th-10th.

Laughter returns for the last two shows of the season.  From the playwrights that brought us Dearly Departed, comes another great rural Texas comedy…Dearly Beloved, running April 5th-14th.  And closing out the season will be one of Ken Ludwig’s hit comedies Lend Me A Tenor, running May 1st-9th.

Season tickets will become available by June 2012.  For more information, call the Burton Leavitt Theatre office at 860-423-2245, or visit windhamtheatreguild.org.
