That Breakfast Place opened its doors on January 1st 2010. “It all started with a dream and a lucky break” Owners Jackie Gaudette and David Gardner gave the prior, Franco’s Cafe on Lower Main St. a little dining room face lift and off they went.
“I had a vision” Gaudette says. “I knew I had to make different and more creative types of food to get the publics attention and set us a part for all the other places to eat.” So thats what they did.
Specials can range from seafood omelets to blueberry ricotta stuffed french toast and bruschetta and eggs.
“I shop for fresh ingredients everyday! There’s always something we need and I get easily distracted in the produce section where you can find me scrutinizing fresh berries and herbs.” She says as she laughs.
That Breakfast Place also serves lunch as well with outstanding burgers, sandwiches, salads and all Homemade soups.
If you haven’t been by since Franco’s you can find new changes in the dining room, addition of a waiting room, siding, signage and an amazing mural from the parking lot side of the building. There is also a private dining room for larger parties up to 12 people.
The current hours are 7 days a week 6am to 2pm and soon to roll out Dinner Service at TBP Wednesday thru Saturday 4:30 to 9:00 with Chef David Awad.
Our dinner service menu will be entirely seasonally based. Chef David enjoys working with the freshest possible seasonal ingredients and the menu will be revolving. Each week Wednesday thru Saturday will be a menu based on what Chef has found at farms and farmers markets as local as we can possibly get. For example we’ve already used Garlic scapes from Cliff Church from his fields in Columbia and fresh goats cheese from Oak Leaf dairy in Lebanon at breakfast. We want to support the “little guy” as much as we can!
In addition Dinner Service is b.y.o.b. (bring your own bottle) with glass and corkage service.
