On Tuesday, September 27th, EASTCONN will host a ribbon-cutting reception and open house for their new conference center in Hampton. EASTCONN is a regional educational service agency serving learners of all ages since 1980.
The 15,700-square-foot addition more than doubles EASTCONN’s present Hampton administrative offices and conference capacity, now 28,000 square feet. Located on Route 6, the Center is conveniently situated with extensive on-site parking. The facility’s 6,000 square feet of event space provides the region with a full-service conference, training and meeting center. It will accommodate up to 300 participants in 10 different rooms, ranging from a 12-person boardroom to a 100-person conference room that can be configured in a variety of ways. A technology center with laptops can serve up to 25 participants and all rooms are equipped with the latest AV equipment and communication systems. On-site catering is also available.
A short-list of the building’s “green” design elements includes an energy-saving geothermal heating and cooling system; new energy-efficient lighting, inside and out; a fresh-air intake system that creates a healthier interior environment; and the use of recycled materials throughout.
EASTCONN’s Conference Office provides comprehensive conference support services, both at EASTCONN facilities and at venues across the state, to both public and private organizations. Their services include: facility sourcing and management; presenter procurement and contracting; materials design and production; on-site registration and logistical support; online registration and fiscal management support; vendor exhibit management services; and Continuing Education Unit (CEU) processing.
EASTCONN has manged regional workshops and statewide conferences for many years. Last year, they coordinated 582 meetings, 211 regional workshops, 30 statewide conferences, and processed 8,800 CEUs.
