ENFORCEMENT
The Governor has given authority to local police and health departments to enforce these rules. Generally a first offense will be a warning and education. Continued violations and more serious violations will result in more serious penalties. Violating these guidelines is violating an executive order which is a Class D Felony, up to $5000 in fines and 1 year in jail. In addition, your business can be shut down.
There is a complaint process. Residents and employees can CONFIDENTIALLY report a violation online here: COVID COMPLAINT FORM After completing the form they will be given the contact info for the correct agency who will need to investigate the violation.
