Willimantic, CT – Windham Arts proudly presents its Once In A Blue Moon Music Jam fundraiser to support and promote the Arts, History, Culture and Tourism in northeastern CT. On Friday, July 31st three well-known and legendary blues/jazz bands will delight the senses at Jillson Square in downtown historic Willimantic from 6 – 10 p.m. The line up includes: the Johnny Winter Legacy Band with James Montgomery and special appearance by Texas’ very own Lance Lopez; CT Blues Challenge winners, The Mighty Soul Drivers; and local blues duo, Tuesday Saints. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is just $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Guests are welcome to bring a blanket or chair. No large backpacks, bags or outside alcohol will be permitted. There will be beer and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as a variety of concessions by Request a Chef of Tolland. In addition, T-shirts and band merchandise will also be available for sale.
“We are thrilled to have such a prestigious line-up appearing right here in our backyard”, stated Executive Director, Michelle Bourgeois, “Johnny Winter passed away one year ago, but his music lives on. His Legacy Band only plays only a few select dates, and we are honored they will be performing to bring attention to the Arts in Windham County”.
Windham Arts is the Connecticut State Office of The Arts designated regional service organization. The non-profit promotes and supports the arts, history, culture and tourism in the 22-towns of northeastern Connecticut.
