Network, Inc., a nonprofit serving people with special needs, is holding its first annual Network Human Services Fall Festival on September 24th, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The festival will offer children’s activities such as inflatables, a clown, live alpacas from Morning Mist Alpacas, games and prizes, and face-painting. Prudence Sloane and Joel Silvestro of the Stardust Dancers will offer a swing dance demonstration, lesson, and competition with celebrity judges including Teresa LaBarbera and Mary Jones (WDRC). Music will include The Phantoms—a Haitian American/Reggae/Fusion ensemble, the Eastern Connecticut State University Jazz Ensemble, and pop/country singer/songwriter Kristen Zhea. Also featured will be the Child ID Program, dozens of arts & crafts vendors (with hand-made raffle items), Scottish Dancers with bagpipe, a K-9 demonstration, and a Revolutionary War demonstration. Concessions will include barbecue sandwiches, wraps, etc., as well as Hosmer Mountain Soda. Admission is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children. All proceeds will benefit individuals with developmental disabilities.
Network operates two day programs, 13 group homes, and supportive living and supportive employment programs. Network offers services to individuals in Tolland, Windham, Hartford, and New London counties.
