More Cleanup! Greenup! Opportunities

Earth Month continues with a wide range of cleanup projects. The Last Green Valley, Inc. (TLGV) is looking for volunteers to help towns and nonprofit organizations spruce up parks, roadways, rivers, and trails. A complete list of cleanup projects can be found on TLGV’s website, www.tlgv.org, (click on “Cleanup Volunteers Needed”). Check back often, as new listings are being added weekly. TLGV has provided funds to support many of these cleanups, because together, we can make The Last Green Valley an even more beautiful place to live, work, and play.

The 10th annual town-wide cleanup in Thompson continues through the end of April. Go for a walk; fill a bag with trash. Thompson Together is calling all volunteers in a month-long effort to beautify the community! Call Norma at 860-208-7196 to volunteer. The Natchaug River Young Marines will be cleaning up the trail alongside theQuinebaug River from Danielson to Plainfield on Friday, April 18, from 8 am – 2 pm. Meet at 31 Wauregan Road (ballfields behind the wastewater treatment facility). Gloves, trash bags, water and food will be provided. The Quinebaug River Trail is a popular multi-use trail offering scenic views of the Quinebaug River. For more information, contact Joseph Couture, Unit Commander, at 860-933-3791 or natchaugriverym@gmail.com.
