Mary Beth Sworin has been promoted to Vice President of Education, Training and Development and Mark Light has been promoted to Vice President in Commercial Lending.

Willimantic, CT (May, 2014) – Rheo Brouillard, President & CEO at Savings Institute Bank & Trust announced the news that Mary Beth Sworin has been promoted to Vice President of Education, Training and Development and Mark Light has been promoted to Vice President in Commercial Lending.

Mark began his career as Branch Manager at the main office in Willimantic in 2006.  Mark is very involved in the area and is currently the Treasurer for Willimantic Renaissance, Inc.  He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern CT State University and is currently pursuing his MBA at University of Connecticut with an expected graduation in 2016.  “Mark is a hard working dedicated employee and has really been an asset to the Commercial Lending department.” stated Paul Little, Senior Vice President & Chief Lending Officer

Mary Beth joined Savings Institute Bank & Trust in 1990 and started her career as Assistant Treasurer/Brooklyn Office Branch Manager and Loan Officer, she then moved into the position of Assistant Vice President and Retail Lending Manager and was most recently the Assistant Vice President of Education, Training and Development.

Her responsibility at the bank is managing the design, creation, delivery, and facilitation of bank-wide training and development programs, in support of the banks’ business and strategic initiatives and needs.  “Mary Beth brings a professionalism and expertise to the Training Department.  She has proven her effectiveness over the years and we are very grateful for her hard work and dedication.” Stated Rheo Brouillard, President & CEO.

Mary Beth is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University graduating Phi Kappa Phi as well as the Connecticut School of Finance and Management, graduating with Honors.   She is a past recipient of the President’s Award, an award given to one employee a year for exceptional performance and impactful positive contribution to the bank. Outside of the bank, she is Crew Chief, EMT, Life Member at the KB Ambulance Corps, Danielson, CT, a CPR and First Aid Instructor at the American Heart Association. At the Center for Financial Training she is Chairperson of the Eastern Connecticut Leadership Council, Councilmember of the Bankers Forum and an Online Instructor and past recipient of ‘Teacher of the Year’.  She is also involved as a Community Outreach Educator at Junior Achievement and FDIC Money Smart and is Past President, Secretary, and Board Member at ARC of Quinebaug Valley; and a former Board Member at Habitat for Humanity of Northeast Connecticut.
