Willimantic, Conn – On Oct. 2, Eastern Connecticut State University’s Center for Internships and Career Development hosted a Graduate School Fair from 1-4 p.m. in the Betty R. Tipton Room. Representatives from colleges around New England came to discuss their various graduate program offerings.
This event was a great opportunity for upperclassmen to be able to meet with the representatives in person and ask questions pertaining to their graduate decision. One senior who attended the fair discussed her enthusiasm for the event. She said, “Though I knew ahead of time where I planned to go to graduate school, I discovered others that I wouldn’t have had time to look into otherwise.”
Approximately 250 students attended the graduate fair and 45 graduate schools participated — the most Eastern has ever had. The recruiters were impressed with the students’ preparation. Lauren Humphrey, graduate admissions counselor from the University of Bridgeport, shared her enthusiasm with Lana Pontbriant, administrative assistant of Eastern’s Center for Internships and Career Development. Humphrey said, “This graduate fair was the best in terms of quality and quantity so far this recruitment season. I was impressed with the great questions Eastern students had.”
