About the Mill Museum:
The Windham Textile and History Museum (The Mill Museum), located in the historic former headquarters of the American Thread Company of Willimantic, Connecticut, is a non-profit educational institution housing a museum, a library, and an archive. Through its exhibits, programs, and collections, the museum preserves and interprets the history of textiles, textile arts and the textile industry, with special emphasis on the experiences of the craftspeople, industrial workers, manufacturers, inventors, designers, and consumers. The museum also promotes greater understanding of major trends and changes in technology, economy, immigration, society, environment, and culture that shaped Connecticut, New England, and the United States from the colonial period to the present.
To date, the Mill Museum has raised over $7,000 of their estimated $25,000 goal. Let’s help them continue to make progress!
About FILL-anthropic:
FILL-anthropic Get-Togethers started three years ago at the Brewing Company with friends throwing $5 in a pitcher while dining and drinking together each month, as a low key way to help local organizations. The event has become so popular, that everyone who goes to Willibrew on the 2nd Wednesday of every month is invited to join in the fun in the Postmaster’s Office. Or just order some food and drink at a table and donate in an envelope given to you by your server. The philosophy behind FILL-anthropic is simple: If a few of us contribute a little we can raise a lot for our local organizations.
Leigh Duffy, Executive Director of The No Freeze Project described FILL-anthropic as:
“Thanks Fill-anthropic for figuring out how to create community, have fun, enjoy great food and raise money for local nonprofits!”
