Meet A Board Member
Say hello to Mike Nelson, Vice Chairman of The Last Green Valley Board of Directors. Mike joined the board in 2013 and has been vice chairman for three years. Mike is a public access supervisor for Spectrum Networks (Charter) and has been operating the Northeastern CT Community Access TV Studio in Northeastern CT for 25 years. Mike’s passion for kayaking, local history and farm preservation drew him to TLGV. Mike is also a member of The Strong Family Farm in Vernon, CT, where his family has turned its farm into a non-profit dedicated to the preservation of family farm history. You often find Mike out and about enjoying the natural resources of the national heritage corridor and every Walktober you’ll find him attending many of the events as an ambassador for the heritage corridor. Thank you Mike for your time and expertise!
Meet Our Newest Staff Member
We are pleased to welcome Fran Kefalas to The Last Green Valley team. Fran started in September as our new Program and Media Coordinator. She brings 21 years of experience as a journalist and editor covering the region, and she is already helping to strengthen our voice and reach new audiences. Along with all of her media responsibilities, Fran will be coordinating Explore, Spring Outdoors, and Walktober. If you haven’t met Fran, stop in to say hello! This edition features the incredible work of our nine partner land trust organizations and explains how TLGV is the driving force behind a $12.2 million effort to protect the Southern New England Heritage Forest! Supporting The Last Green Valley is Easy
Marty’s of Dudley has offered to recycle cans and bottles and donate the proceeds to The Last Green Valley. Bring your sorted cans and bottles to Marty’s, located at 119 West Main St. Dudley, MA, between 9:30 am to 5:45 pm, Monday thru Saturday, and let the staff know you are returning them for The Last Green Valley. Marty’s will log them in and send us a check!
Office Cabinet Cleaning – Free Ink Cartridges
The Last Green Valley has numerous new, unused HP ink cartridges available to any nonprofit partner who can use them. If they fit your printer, call to reserve and come pick them up. They are: HP 02 Light Magenta, HP 02 Light Cyan, HP 15 Black, HP 23 Tri-color, HP 45 Black, HP 57 Tri-color, and HP 78 Tri-color.
