A large load of wood chips delivered at the railroad museum in Willimantic, CT will be utilized in the parking lot gardens and for other beautification projects throughout the museum over the next several years. Northern Construction Services of Palmer, MA clearing land for C L & P’s Interstate Reliability Project. This electric transmission project runs from the Card Street Substation in Lebanon to the Rhode Island state line in Thompson, CT. When you clear a path 150 feet wide over this length you generate a lot of chips. Northern is working to be a good neighbor in the communities where they are operating.
Ultimately, when the Airline and Hop River hiking trails are completed through western Willimantic, the trail will run through the rail road museum’s parking lot and garden.
