Connecticut Tourism – Don’t Miss Out on Travel Deals, and Open House/Big E Sign Ups!

Happy New Year from the team at the Connecticut Office of Tourism! As we begin 2018, we want to reinforce our efforts to build partnerships, develop and implement strategically sound marketing initiatives and iwork in tandem with you, the Connecticut Tourism industry, to grow tourism in our great state.

We began the year with two days of strategic input and planning, where some 70 business and industry members, representing all segments and areas of Connecticut’s tourism industry, came together for the good of the entire state. Those participating gave important insight and input that will help shape our collective marketing plans moving forward. I thank all who were with us for their time, energy and constructive participation. We will continue with this group and others as we follow-up and proceed with our planning and resulting efforts. More to come on this.

Thanks to each of you for your support of Connecticut Tourism in 2017! We look forward to working with you towards a prosperous 2018.

Tourism on the Road

The Regional Tourism Outreach Team continues to hit the road meeting with businesses and organizations who are looking for marketing assistance.  Recent visits included the City of Norwalk’s Tourism Committee where over a dozen of its committee members discussed strategic ways to collaborate with surrounding tourism-like businesses in efforts to attract visitors and revenue to the city.  The Outreach Team also met with business members of the Central Connecticut Chamber of Commerce.  Exchange of ideas, best practices and marketing opportunities were shared and discussion ensued on how to engage others in marketing central Connecticut as a tourism destination.  If you are interested in meeting with the Regional Tourism Outreach team, please contact Rosemary Bove at rosemary.bove@ct.gov.
