Congratulations to Dr.Núñez, newly appointed VP for All State Universities

Congratulations to Dr.Núñez as the newly appointed Vice President for the State Universities (Central, Eastern, Southern and Western). Dr.Núñez will also continue her current role as President of Eastern State University.

A Message From Elsa Núñez:

In the past few months, the new Board of Regents for Higher Education has established its organizational structure.  Among the areas they have paid attention to was the creation of two vice president positions as members of the Regent’s staff.   The Higher Education Act that established the new Board of Regents calls for two vice-presidents: one for the community colleges and one for the state universities.   David L. Levinson, President of Norwalk Community College, has been serving as interim Vice President of the Connecticut Community Colleges.

To advance the Board of Regent’s academic initiatives and fulfill its legislative requirements, President Robert A. Kennedy has asked me to serve an additional role as Vice President of the Connecticut State Universities, in addition to continuing to serve as the President of Eastern Connecticut State University.  In this new role, I will serve as a liaison between the four Connecticut State Universities and the Board of Regents and their staffs.  My focus will be on academic policies and procedures, with the goal of strengthening our four state universities.

I am honored that the Board of Regents has asked me to serve in this new capacity, and have assured Dr. Kennedy that I will work closely with the other Connecticut State University presidents to advance the mission of each university.    I am proud to be your president.  Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Elsa M. Núñez

President
