With the arrival of springtime, it’s easy to forget the harsh winter we weathered. The Chamber of Commerce reminds our eligible private non-profit organizations that the U.S. Small Business Administration is offering disaster assistance for damages sustained from the Jan. 26 – 28, 2015 snowstorm, and that applications for assistance must be filed by June 8.
Private non-profits in New London, Tolland, and Windham counties that provide non-critical services are encouraged to apply. Examples of eligible organizations include food kitchens, homeless shelters, museums, libraries, community centers, and schools.
Applicants may apply online via SBA’s website. Disaster loan information and application forms may be obtained by calling the SBA’s Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955 or by emailing disastercustomerservice@sba.gov.
