Commercial lender has significant banking experience in eastern Connecticut

Groton, CT – April 1, 2013 – Charter Oak Federal Credit Union has named Robert P. Beeckman, an experienced local lender, as its new Vice President of Business Lending.
“Bob’s commercial lending expertise, along with his knowledge of eastern Connecticut’s business community, will help Charter Oak further expand its business-lending portfolio in New London and Windham counties,” said Brian A. Orenstein, Charter Oak’s Chief Executive Officer. “Bob is well-known in Windham County, an increasingly important market for Charter Oak,” said Orenstein.
Before joining Charter Oak, Beeckman served for a decade as Assistant Vice President-Commercial Loan Officer with the Business Banking Group at Putnam Bank.
Charter Oak now has two experienced commercial lenders serving the business needs of New London and Windham counties. Beeckman will be working with Jane Moriarty, who has served as Vice President of Business Lending for Charter Oak since 2009.
Beeckman has more than three decades of banking experience, including expertise in the commercial and private banking areas. His banking background includes experience with The Savings Institute, First Union National Bank, Fleet Bank and The Connecticut Bank & Trust Co.
