Andover, CT, May 4, 2015 -Channel 3 Kids Camp’s teen leadership program spent the weekend giving back to the community by helping clean up Andover Beach. The volunteer project was coordinated with the Andover Town Committee to continue the Earth Day mission and support the surrounding camp community. Their project consisted of raking leaves, cleaning debris, and readying Andover Beach for the summer season.
“The teen leadership program is one that teaches our young people to give back to their community and to develop leadership qualities that will allow them to become dedicated members of society,” says Alycia Williams, Director of Programs. “It is through volunteer projects like the Andover Beach Clean Up that our teens are able to learn how critical it is to give back to others to help make the world a more beautiful place,” Williams continues.
Channel 3 Kids Camp runs year-round teen leadership weekends and offers overnight and an all NEW day teen leadership program. Throughout the program teens will be able to continue to participate in camp activities while learning leadership skills, help plan and execute special events, plan and teach team building exercises, help with transitional activities, literacy projects, gardening, and other programs throughout camp.
