Chamber to Host Gubernatorial Candidates Forum for Northeast CT

Come Stand Up, Speak Out & Meet the Candidates

The Chamber of Commerce, Windham Region will be the host of a gubernatorial forum for Northeast CT on Thursday, July 29, 2010.  The event will be at the Nathan Hale Inn & Conference Center in Storrs from 7:30-9:00 am and will include a continental breakfast.

This forum will give all candidates an opportunity to answer questions and explain their policies, agendas and strategies they wish to implement if they elected the State’s new governor this fall.  Candidates include two Democrats, Dan Malloy and Ned Lamont and three Republicans, Tom Foley, Oz Griebel, and Michael Fedele.

“Often times when there is a big race in the state the northeast corner gets forgotten.  We are very pleased that the candidates are taking time out of their schedules to come here and talk issues,” said Roger Adams, Executive Director of The Chamber of Commerce, Windham Region.  “Any business in this area should absolutely be present for this so they can hear what the candidates plan to do to improve the business climate in the State.  The Governor’s Office is looking down the barrel of a huge budget crisis in the coming years so strong leadership is going to be more than necessary.  It will be necessary for the survival of many of our local economies.”

Business owners and the general public are invited to attend.  This is a chance for our state government to hear the voices of the citizens and business leaders in Northeast CT.    Each candidate will be given the opportunity to answer questions prepared by the audience.  Please submit all questions to the Chamber by email to info@WindhamChamber.com.

Seating is limited to the first 80 people so please register early.  The cost per person is $10.  You can register online at www.WindhamChamber.com or by calling the Chamber at 860.423.6389.

A special thanks to AT&T for hosting this event.
