State Senate President Donald Williams Speaks At Legislative Breakfast
State Senate President Donald Williams appeared at a legislative breakfast with Chamber members at the Nathan Hale Inn and Conference Center in Storrs on October 27. He reflected on the results of the 2010 state legislative session and its inability to accomplish all it wished due to political differences with the Governor’s office. The 2011 session will be at least as difficult as the state faces a $3.5 billion deficit, high unemployment, a still weak economy and an anemic income stream. Senator Williams is hopeful that if the legislative majority is of the same party as the new governor, there will be more cooperation at the Capitol in facing the state’s daunting challenges.
