For the last several weeks the Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the Town of Windham and the Office of Energy Efficient Businesses to provide every business located in Windham a free energy audit without the pressure of sales of energy products. The State of CT created the OEEB to help businesses filter through the massive amount of information available on energy programs ranging from discounts to tax refunds to low energy loans. The goal of the program is to work with each business, do an audit and then let them know if they qualify for any of the numerous programs out there without a sales person trying to sell you on something you may not need. “This is not a sales pitch or a company trying to sell you a service. This is completely objective, no sales, no pressure. What is does is provides the business owner with information they can use to eventually participate in one of the many energy programs out there. They will know if they really need something replaced and they will know who to turn to in order to get the funding,” said Diane Nadeau, President and CEO of the Chamber.
Although Windham businesses were targeting during a two week program where eight consultants went door to door to meet business owners and do their audits, any business is eligible to take advantage of this opportunity. “The idea is to hit as many businesses as possible so they target areas where businesses are concentrated like in Windham. However, if you would like someone to stop by and give you a free audit without any obligations to buy, please call the Chamber and we will get them out to your business as soon as possible. What is really good is that the audit not only points you in the right direction to save money it also helps you know what you need so you are not spending money on projects where there are minimal or no savings,” said Nadeau.
