Asra Nomani, a former reporter for the Wall Street Journal, will speak at Eastern Connecticut State University’s University Hour Series from 3- 4 p. m. on Sept. 12 in the Student Center Theatre. The public is invited. Admission is free.
Event organizers say Nomani’s presentation, “Spirit in Action: Motivated to Ignite Change,” will discuss “the need to reclaim the voice that the prophet gave to women in Islam.”
Nomani, an Indian-American journalist, author and feminist, is known for her activism in the Muslim reform and Islamic feminist movements.
