It’s Earth Month!

Join a cleanup team and help keep The Last Green Valley clean and green!

TLGV has provided funds to nonprofits and towns all over The Last Green Valley for roadside, park, and river cleanups. Join a cleanup and make a difference!

FIND A CLEANUP

Get Outside!

Spring Outdoors is in full swing! More than 150 walks, talks, and other activities are just waiting for you to explore! Spring Outdoors will continue until the Summer Solstice on June 21. Find your new favorite place this spring!

SO MANY CHOICES!

Federal Funding in Jeopardy

The Last Green Valley receives a significant portion of its funding from the National Park Service’s National Heritage Areas Program.

President Trump’s FY 18 budget has proposed eliminating funds for all 49 National Heritage Areas nationwide.

If you love where you live, work, and play, we need your help. Please make sure your Congressman and Senators support full funding for The Last Green Valley National Heritage Corridor!

Volunteers Needed

Universal Trails Assessment Process (UTAP)

We are still looking for volunteers to assist with an important accessibility project along the Air Line State Park Trail.

Up to 5 people per team are needed to help measure slope, distance, and other features at public access points and trail locations. This information is very helpful to people with limited mobility or disabilities in determining the accessibility of the site for their own use.

All of the trails are close to parking lots and only mild physical activity is needed. We usually go out on Thursdays; dress for the weather and bring drinks. We’ll provide some snacks. If you are interested in joining or have questions, please call 860- 774-3300 or email LyAnn Graff. Thank you!

Jump in to Volunteer and Help Monitor The Last Green Valley’s Waters!

TLGV needs you! Volunteers are needed this spring and summer for an expanded water quality monitoring program. Training and equipment are provided, and TLGV will match your interests and availability with one of the monitoring programs. Learn about trolls and hobos, catch squirmy bugs, become a storm trooper, probe a lake, and make a long-lasting and positive impact in our National Heritage Corridor. The waters are ours and we all live downstream.

Marty’s will log them in and send us a check!

If you are an Amazon shopper, all you have to do is shop! Amazon will donate 0.5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to The Last Green Valley. Use this link to shop.
