Hartford, CT — The Hartford Chapter of APICS is offering a variety of Professional Development Events and Workshops in upcoming weeks.
Local, regional, and national speakers are frequently featured at APICS-Hartford events, presenting topics of interest to today’s supply and operations professionals. Events are open to APICS members and non-members.
On March 9 the topic is Additive Manufacturing (or “3D printing”). This technology is growing at an amazing rate — and it’s ushering in some of the most innovative breakthroughs seen in manufacturing in a generation. Join APICS-Hartford for a behind-the-scenes look at the Additive Manufacturing Innovation Center, located at UConn. Participants will meet for dinner and networking at Chuck’s Steakhouse near the campus, and then travel over to the Center for a presentation and tour.
On March 22 APICS-Hartford is offering a Website Assessment Workshop jointly presented by Karen Etchells of Innovast Digital Marketing and Thomas Dzialo of Sixth Floor Consulting. This event will be held at The MDC Training Center in Hartford. The workshop will offer fresh perspective and constructive feedback on your company website as it stands today. The group will discuss features of actual websites represented by attendees. Through a step-by-step process, the discussion will center on what attributes make an online presence successful. Case studies and actual data will be presented to demonstrate specifics on how organizations can better harness online capabilities to more effectively share information with customers and potential customers. Participants will generate an action-list that will outline paths to resolution for common issues discussed that may pertain to their company website.
The stories behind the making of CPTV’s “Made in Connecticut,” will be the highlight of the April 12th event, held at Hartford Flavor Company. Learn about the companies featured on the television series and the great things coming next. Christina Defranco, the producer and host of the series, along with Dean Miller, Senior Vice President of Content at Connecticut Public Broadcasting, will be the presenters for the evening, and they will share how the series came to be—and how it is making a difference for Connecticut businesses.
