The Chamber of Commerce, Inc, Windham Region is happy to announce the 2013 Business Award recipients. The 8th Annual Awards Ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 2 at the Willimantic Elks Lodge and will recognize outstanding businesses for their contributions to the Windham Region.
This year’s honored guest and award recipient for Community Service will be Congressman Joseph Courtney, United States 2nd District Representative. Please join us as we acknowledge the successes and contributions of these local businesses and organizations
The Nathan Hale Inn & Conference Center’s Business of the Year is awarded to Windham Wine & Spirits and the Randazzo Family. This award is given to a business which has expanded through physical and/or employment growth, and has exhibited commitment to civic engagement.
Padgett Business Services’ New Business of the Year is awarded to Chris the Gutter Guy. This award is given to a new establishment which has been in business less than two years and has invested, grown or expanded its services and/or employment, and has exhibited commitment to their community through volunteerism and philanthropy.
Eastern’s Corporate Citizen of the Year is awarded to Liberty Bank. This award goes to an individual or an institution that has made very measurable contributions to community betterment over a period of time and whose efforts will continue to significantly benefit the community and the region in the future.
CG Real Estate’s Lifetime Achievement Award is awarded to Rheo Brouillard of The Savings Institute Bank & Trust Company. This award goes to an individual who has shown great dedication to making his or her community a better place to live, work and play throughout his or her entire life.
The Shoe Smith’s Volunteer of the Year is awarded to Trisha Lagasse from Liberty Bank. This award is given to a Chamber member who shows dedication to the Chamber by regularly volunteering their time for events, projects and activities that further the strategic plan and thus benefit the economic development of the region.
PBR Investments’ Board Member of the Year is awarded to William Simpson from the UCONN CO-Op. This award is given to a Board member who sets a standard for dedication to the vision and mission of the Chamber, and, in doing so, inspires others to serve and to assume leadership responsibilities.
Chris the Gutter Guy’s Ambassador of the Year is awarded to Chris Grant of CG Real Estate. This award is given to a Chamber member who best promotes the vision and mission of the Chamber to both our membership and the community.
Liberty Bank’s Golden Time Card Award is awarded to Generations. This award goes to an individual or an institution that has successfully created a significant number of new jobs in the region.
CT Casket Company’s Earth Award is awarded to DBS Energy. This award is given to recognize a business that goes above and beyond by either producing green, energy efficient products or by using green, energy efficient products during manufacturing or delivery of their product or service.
People’s United Bank’s Community Service Award is awarded to the Willimantic Rotary. This award is given to recognize an individual, business or organization that shows dedication to improving the quality of life for the residents in the region through civic engagement.
The Revitalization Award is awarded to Storrs Commons and Franklin Hall. This award goes to individuals or institutions that have made efforts and contributions toward building community and improving the look and feel of the local area.
AT&T’s Recognition of Service Award is awarded to Congressman Joseph Courtney. This award is given to an individual exhibiting extraordinary concern for the welfare and betterment of the people in their community and region.
TSI Harley Davidson’s Chairperson of the Year is awarded to Carl Sanders of Padgett Business Services. This award is given to an outstanding leader who makes a Chamber event or program a success through their insight and guidance.
Logistic Consulting’s Technology Award is awarded to Artistic Projection. This award is given to a business who shows outstanding knowledge of the technology universe and applies it to better their business, community or other businesses in the Windham Region.
CL&P’s Innovative Education Award is awarded to the Windham Public School’s Before and After School Program. This award is given to an educational institution or program for thinking outside of the box and giving opportunities for young students to grow and achieve their educational or career goals.
Saving Institute Bank & Trust Company’s Philanthropist of the Year is awarded to the Eastern Foundation. This award is given to an individual or organization who shows consistent selfless giving to organizations, charities or causes in their community. Their contributions are not only financial but include their participation and leadership support.
Windham Hospital’s Wellness Award is awarded to Fit Club. This award is given to a person or business that promotes health and wellness in their community through education and example.
